Introduction
A biography is a records of someone’s life. In it you may discover someone’s start, marriage, and dying statistics and the names of parents, youngsters, or different own family members. Use the records cautiously because some may be erroneous.
Collective Biographies
Collective biographies, sometimes called biographical encyclopedias or dictionaries, have thousands of short biographies, usually of outstanding or famous residents. Others characteristic specific corporations, which includes artists or priests. Some considerable ones for Canada, located in lots of huge libraries within the United States and Canada, are:
Dictionary of Canadian Biography/Dictionnaire biographique du Canada (DCB/DBC), online model with eight,four hundred biographies, together with the contents of volumes I to XV. The Dictionary is a research and publishing challenge of the University of Toronto and the Université Laval, firstly released in 1959.

This work indexes over seven million biographies of million human beings, which include international figures and United States and Canadian residents.
Wallace, W. Stewart, ed. The Macmillan Dictionary of Canadian Biography. 4th ed. Rev. W. A. McKay. Toronto: Macmillan of Canada, 1978, reprint 1985. (Family History Library e book 971 D3ww.) This is a beneficial one-quantity biographical dictionary of outstanding Canadians who died before 1976.
Who’s Who in Canada. London, Eng., or Toronto: numerous publishers, 1910–. (FHL book 971 D3w.) This paintings lists many prominent 20th-century Canadian citizens. The Family History Library has some recent troubles; large libraries in Canada may additionally have the complete collection.
