Sheikh Baha-ud-din Zakariya Multani.

Heikh Baha-ud-din Zakariya Multani who initiated the Sufi order Shurawardiyah in Sub-continent turned into born in 1170. His paternal grandfather who firstly belonged to Qureshi tribe of Makkah migrated from Khwarazim to Multan at the same time as his maternal grandfather shifted to Multan at some stage in Mongol invasions. When he was twelve years old his father died. He left for Khurasan where he stayed for 5 years and finished his religious and temporal education. Then he moved to Bukhara and later to Hijaz. Later he went to Baghdad and under Sheikh-ul-Shauookh Shahab-ud-din Shurawardi accomplished his religious training and became his khalifah (chief disciple). Sheikh assigned his responsibility at Multan.

He preached Islam to each class of society along with kings and paupers. Although Nasir-ud-din Kabacha became the ruler of Multan, Sheikh Zakariya preferred Shams-ud-din Iltumish who turned into a man of noble person, This indignant Kabacha but later he also commenced to revere him.
Bahauddin Zakariya handed away on 21 December 1262. His mausoleum providing a completely unique style of architecture is a high appeal of the castle region in Multan. The predominant supply of better education for Multan has been named as Bahauddin Zakariya University.
